BRITISH MOTOR INDUSTRY HERITAGE TRUST � THE NICK BALDWIN PROJECT
PROJECT ARCHIVIST (28 month fixed contract)

Salary c. �19,000 per annum plus benefits

The Nick Baldwin Collection is a prime source of historic material relating to the history of the motor industry throughout the twentieth century. It includes documents, photographic prints, glass negatives, brochures, magazines and press cuttings. This two-year post has been created to participate in the Nick Baldwin Project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, which will enable sorting, cataloguing to archival standards and opening up of public access to the widest audience possible.

The Project Archivist will be expected to lead the documentation and digitisation of the Collection, supervising a Cataloguing Assistant. They will also work in association with other specialists to create a website and a permanent exhibition based on the Collection. The applicant should be a qualified Archivist with experience of computer cataloguing and good knowledge of archive documentation standards. Previous experience with websites and preparing exhibitions would also be useful.

BRITISH MOTOR INDUSTRY HERITAGE TRUST

PICTURE LIBRARY SALES MANAGER (24 month fixed contract)

Salary �20,000 per annum

The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust, based at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon in Warwickshire has an unrivalled archive containing over 750,000 negatives relating to the history of British motoring and social history. This new post will develop the commercial services of the photographic archive, marketing and promoting the collection whilst maintaining the academic and conservation standards of the collection.

The post holder will be responsible for dealing with enquiries from the media, publishers, car enthusiasts and commercial organisations, negotiating fees and protecting the copyright of Trust images.

The successful candidate should have at least two years experience of working in a commercial picture library, sales and marketing ability and strong computer skills.
