BikeSafe weekend - to be opened by Murray Walker!

Superbike champion Leon Haslam will be a guest at the Heritage Motor Centre bike weekend 3-4 April. The event will be opened on Saturday at 11.00 a.m. by Murray Walker - the voice of motorsport. Steve Berry - motorcycle broadcaster will be providing the live commentary during the event.
Warwickshire Police will be hosting BikeSafe Weekend at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire, on 3 - 4 April 2004. This is ideal opportunity for motorcycle owners and potential owners, to learn how to ride safely under expert guidance.

BikeSafe is an initiative run by police forces throughout the UK, who work with the biking world to help lower the number of motorcycle rider casualties, by holding assessed rides and rider skills workshops. Police from across the UK are joining forces to promote BikeSafe initiatives during this FREE weekend event.

On Sunday the annual Heritage Run arrives at the Centre, comprising 150 Land Rovers from the Association of Rover Clubs, representing 56 years of production. With Car Club displays & an exclusive LRM exhibition & trade fair.

The first Heritage Run took place in 1998 as a key milestone event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Land Rover. Since then the Run has become an integral part of the Heritage Motor Centre’s events calendar. This year the Run will be held on Sunday 2 May and will congregate at the Land Rover factory and take a new route (avoiding the motorway) to the Heritage Motor Centre near Gaydon.

Completed entry forms should be returned quickly, as the Heritage Run is operated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Successful applicants to the Heritage Run receive a reserved place in the cavalcade; gate entry to the Land Rover plant at Lode Lane, Solihull and the Land Rover Show, organised in association with LRM at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon and a Heritage commemorative plaque to keep for each driver and Land Rover vehicle.

At the Show the cavalcade vehicles will be on public display in the Southern Arena for everyone to see. This year there is an option to attend both event days on the Sunday and Monday at a special rate of £15 for each vehicle, including the driver and one passenger.

A spectacular display of super cars including Ferraris, Maseratis, Lotus', TVRs, Lamborghinis and Aston Martins. Bring your dreams to reality by taking a sponsored ride in your dream car, with proceeds to the Sporting Bears charity.

Some of the exotic cars on show will include a rare Koenigsegg CC8S, which is a Swedish supercar costing approximately £400, 000, there are only three in the UK . The performance figures for this car are 0-60 mph in less than 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 240 mph. It has a 4.7 litre V8 supercharged engine, which produces 655 bhp at 6800 rpm, and 750Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. This car has a mid-engine layout, with rear-wheel drive. The car will arrive at the Centre around midday.

Other cars on show

Other show features include a cavalcade of over 20 De Lorean's, Shell Pitstop Challenge, The Heritage Motor Centre Supercar of the Year (prizes to include tour of the Aston Martin DB factory and Jaguar factory). All Presented by Steve Berry and Adele Burton.
