The Archive of the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust preserves the surviving records of some of the most famous names in British motoring history. The Archive department offers the proud classic car owner a Heritage Certificate which is a certified copy of the entry against the chassis number in the authentic factory ledgers. Discover the original numbers and colour scheme, dates of build and despatch, and where available, the details of factory fitted equipment.
A Heritage Certificate for your classic car makes an ideal Christmas present! Demand for this popular service has been extremely high this year so to ensure delivery by 24th December, applications need to be received by Friday 26th November 2004 at the latest.

If you already have a Heritage Certificate for your car and would you like it updated to the new style Certificate (introduced in September 2001). Send a copy of your original Certificate, along with your name, car model and Certificate number and we will re-issue your Certificate. Aston Martin Presentation Folder
As part of the new service to Aston Martin owners we are offering a special presentation folder for models produced between 1957 and 1980. Embossed with the Aston Martin and Heritage logos, it has been specially designed to hold the Certificate, and also contains a facsimile of the original build cards and a colour copy of the appropriate sales brochure. The total cost including the Heritage Certificate is �45.
Terms and Conditions
Research is carried out on the basis of a chassis number supplied by the enquirer. No liability can be accepted where an incorrect number has been quoted even if this leads to an incorrect car being researched.
Whilst every care is taken to ensure the correctness of the information supplied , neither BMIHT nor any of its associated Trusts or Companies will be held liable for any errors or omissions or the consequences thereof.
A Heritage Certificate in itself does not constitute verification of the present condition or actual identity of a particular vehicle.
We reserve the right to demand proof of ownership of a vehicle before issuing a Heritage Certificate.
If for any reason we are unable to research your vehicle your fee will be returned.
We reserve the right to adjust the US$ / Euro charge in the event of severe fluctuations in the exchange rate.
