MORRIS FILMS
William Morris (later Lord Nuffield), was very quick to see the potential benefits of film as a promotional medium. These films were mainly shown to specially invited, potential customers at dealer's evenings in the showrooms. This video represents a typical programme shown on one of these evenings.

AT COWLEY (1932 Sound)
A classic period production. A father (Miles Thomas) returns home to tell his family of his guided tour of the Morris works at Cowley.

MARVELS OF MODERN MACHINERY (1932 Sound)
A film showing the Morris engines being produced at the Coventy factory. The emphasis is on the use of very high precision production techniques.

MORRIS GAZETTE (1933 Sound)
News and views of Morris activities in short 'newsreel' like stories along the lines of the famous Pathe Gazette. Titles include 'Sahara Conquered', 'Varsity Eight and Morris Six' and 'Thrills in the Air and Funds for the Sick'.
Please note that whilst the majority of these films have been mastered onto video using original, restored 35mm prints or negatives, some have had to be stored and reconstructed using 35mm or 16mm components. The quality of the picture and sound in these cases is somewhat variable.
