If you have booked a school visit to the Heritage Motor Centre please read the following instructions to ensure that your day goes as smoothly as possible:
Before Arrival Please telephone the Heritage Motor Centre on 01926 641188 if you are delayed on your journey or expect to arrive late as this will affect the running of the day's programme.
On Arrival
Schools Reception Point From the coach drop-off point, which is right outside the main entrance to the museum building, pupils should be led inside the museum and gathered quietly at the Reception Point. This is on your right as you enter the foyer by the Main Entrance. Please ensure your pupils remain here whilst the Group Leader registers your arrival at the main Reception Desk (on the left).
Coach Drivers will be directed to the coach park by Centre staff. (Location may vary).
Payment Unless you have arranged in advance to be invoiced later, please pay at the ticket desk on arrival on the day of your visit. Cheques should be made payable to 'British Motor Industry Heritage Trust'.
Greeting After registering at the main Reception Desk, your group will be taken to one of the classrooms. After welcoming the group, the Education Officer will give a brief introduction to the Museum, explain our guidelines for behaviour and give you your programme for the day.
Supervision of pupils The behaviour of the pupils at the Heritage Motor Centre is the responsibility of the teacher (unless they are with our Education Officer).
For the safety and security of your class, would teachers and adult helpers please note that there are areas within the Museum where particular care and attention is required. The Education Officer requests that all education parties, with students under 18 years are supervised at all times. It is recommended that classes are pre-divided into small groups with an adult responsible for the supervision and behaviour of each group at all times.
Parties or individuals behaving in an unreasonable manner will be asked to leave the Museum.
Toilets There are public toilets located in the main foyer. Additional toilets are located on the lower ground floor, adjacent to the lift.
Lunch arrangements Wherever possible the classroom used by your group will be made available exclusively for the duration of your visit and provides space for the whole group to eat their lunch. In fine weather, you can opt to eat lunch outside in the designated picnic areas. The behaviour of the pupils whilst on the site is the responsibility of accompanying adults. Please do not leave any litter in the classroom or the outside picnic area.
Departure Arrangements When it is time to leave your class should congregate in the foyer area at the School's Reception Point.
The coach pick-up point is directly outside the Museum entrance.
