These two beautifully crafted films were made to launch the Austin and Morris versions of BMC's 1100, designed by Alec Issigonis. The result is compulsive viewing and includes an interview with Alec Issigonis.

Released in 1933, 'This Progress' was an ambitious and expensive project, one of the first promotional films to make use of the newly developed synchronised sound system. The early part of the film includes rare footage of Sir Herbert Austin, the main part of the film covers manufacture at Longbridge.
