Le Mans 60/61 Ref: 1017 Price: 14.99
LE MANS 1960 Three experimental 1.9 litre TRs added the icing to a superb collection of exotic machinery - the fabulous Birdcage Maserati, twelve works Ferraris as well as the 4.6 litre Briggs-Cunningham Corvette. A mystery last minute modification becomes the achilles heel for the Triumphs, although they all finish - the only team to remain intact throughout the race. (24 minutes). TRIUMPH AT LE MANS 1961 This saw the return to Le Mans of the Triumph Team in their experimental cars which did so well the year before. The team excelled themselves by not only taking the Team Prize for the second year in succession, but also finishing 9th, 11th and 15th overall, with the leading car maintaining an average speed of 98.9 mph. While this film is notable for its footage of the Gendarme Motorbike Display Team, perhaps of more historical interest is Jim Clark in Border Rievers Aston Martin which held the lead for part of the race. (36 minutes).
